An F-Zero inspired racing prototype for Spring Lisp Gamejam 2026

INTRO:

World War 3 is in it's 500th year.

On distant floating colonies, third generation clones race "Mag Gears": high-speed racers fashioned from stolen high altitude fighters.

CONTROLS:

Keyboard & Mouse:

Left Click: Enable Mouse Turn

Mouse (when enabled): Steer

W/Up: Accelerate

A/Left: Shift Left

D/Right: Shift Right

Shift/Space: Boost (after Lap 1 in Time Trial)

Escape: Cancel Mouse Turn/Pause

Gamepad:

Left Analogue: Steer

A: Accelerate

LB: Shift Left

RB: Shift Right

X/B: Boost (after Lap 1 in Time Trial)

Start: Pause

TIPS:

- Turning applies a speed penalty.  Try and be as gentle with turns as possible.

- Especially harsh turns will cause you to lose grip and start spinning out.

- To regain grip, either drive with no steering input, or momentarily let go of the accelerator.

- To bypass your Mag Gear's throttle control, let go of the accelerator while boosting past your regular top speed.  This will cause your speed to decrease at a slower rate, but be careful to apply the accelerator again once you reach your regular top speed!

ISSUES:

For some unknown reason, the 3D rendering is broken on Windows, and I did not have time to research a solution in time for Jam submission.  For the time being, treat this as a Linux exclusive.
